For more than fifteen years, Stuart Country Day School of the Sacred Heart has volunteered to provide a hot meal and bag lunches to the Loaves and Fishes Community Dinner at St. Mary’s Cathedral in Trenton. This year was no different with students from preschool through 12th grade, faculty, staff, and parents donating food and other items to help feed an estimated 600 guests. All in all, 800 bag lunches were made and delivered to St. Mary’s Cathedral on Saturday morning, January 28 by Stuart volunteers. Approximately 50 students, parents, faculty and staff volunteered during the day, preparing and serving the meal, and helping to clean up. Stuart Country Day School fifth graders Kathryn Riman of Belle Mead and Whitney Bestwick of Skillman make and wrap sandwiches in preparation for Stuart’s annual donation of food to the Loaves and Fishes Community Dinner at St. Mary’s Cathedral in Trenton. Stuart Country Day School fourth grader Autumn Townsend of Trenton makes sandwiches for the Loaves and Fishes Community Dinner at St. Mary’s Cathedral in Trenton. Each year Stuart Country Day School volunteers to donate food, prepare and serve a hot meal, and provide bag lunches for the Loaves and Fishes program. |
