Stuart Country Day School, Princeton, N.J. culminated National Women's
History Month with a celebration of remarkable women as the Lower
School held its annual Women We Admire Day.
Students in the grades K-5 chose a woman they highly regard, research
her life and accomplishments. They shared their findings with the rest
of the school in a "Talking Museum" where each girl dresses as her
woman she admires. Parents, faculty, staff and fellow students
visit the Talking Museum where they drop a coin in a cup at the foot of
the "display" to hear a live narrative of the woman portrayed by the
student.
Each year, the Lower School selects a charitable organization to
receive the funds collected during Women We Admire Day. This year's
recipient is Woman Space, a Mercer County-based organization that
serves victims of domestic violence.
The admirable women making an appearance in this year's celebration
were a diverse group reflecting the interests and passions of the
Stuart students.
These included Ruth Wakefield, the creator of the chocolate chip
cookie; Mother Teresa, television personality Oprah Winfrey, Mexican
artist Frida Kahlo, Olympian Wilma Rudolph and basketball star Lisa
Leslie.

Kindergarten student Rachel Bierman of Princeton, dressed
as Frida Kahlo, educates the audience about the Mexican artist's life
as part of Women We Admire Day at Stuart Country Day School.
