STUART STUDENT-ATHLETES OFFERED SPOTS ON COLLEGIATE SPORTS TEAMS
Princeton, N.J. (February 23, 2007) - Stuart Country Day School of the Sacred Heart is pleased to announce that four senior student-athletes have been offered spots on collegiate athletic teams.
Kelly Bruvik, of Skillman, N.J., has agreed to play Field Hockey for Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Pa. A four-year member of the Tartan's Field Hockey team, Bruvik set a school record 66 goals and
43 assists. She was named the Princeton Packet Player of the Year and helped the team win a second straight Mercer County Tournament championship as well as a fourth straight Patriot Conference Title.
Emily Gittleman, of Princeton N.J., has committed to cox for the crew team at Trinity College in Hartford, Conn. A four-year member of the Mercer Junior Rowing Club, Gittleman was the coxswain on the crew that placed seventh out of 62 teams competing in the Head of the Charles regatta in Boston this year.
Brittany Iacouzze, of Princeton Junction, N.J., has accepted an invitation to join the women's swim team at Yale University in New Haven, Conn. A distance specialist, Iacouzze is the 2007 Mercer County 500 meter freestyle champion, having set a meet record of 5:29.78, shattering the mark previously held by Stuart alumnae Tara Erwin. She is a nationally ranked swimmer.
Taylor Tully of Princeton, N.J., has accepted an invitation to play Squash at Dartmouth College in Hanover, N.H. A nationally-ranked junior player, Tully has been the Tartan's top competitor the past four years. She competes regularly at international tournaments in England, Scotland, Germany and New Zealand.
"We're extremely proud of the accomplishments of our student-athletes," said Cheryl Wolf, athletic director at Stuart.
"Each of these girls has managed to juggle academic excellence with their athletic success. We wish them well in their collegiate years."
