STUART STUDENTS SPREADING CHRISTMAS CHEER
Princeton, NJ (December 11, 2006)
Christmas is a time for thinking of others and the spirit of giving is in abundance at Stuart Country Day School.
The entire school community is busily preparing for its traditional
Christmas outreach. Students in the Lower School have been laboring to
create Christmas tree ornaments. Once the glitter and ribbons have
dried on their creative masterpieces, they bring their ornaments to the
school's lobby to hang on the Christmas tree. On December 15, the
students then take all their ornaments and donate them to the Princeton
Red Cross, which uses the ornaments to bring cheer to those who
participate in its Meals on Wheels program.
Stuart has a long tradition of community outreach. According to Barbara
Ann Cagney, a second grade teacher at the school, this is the sixth
year the school has partnered with the local Red Cross to provide tree
ornaments during Christmas time. She estimates Stuart's students
will donate approximately 200 hand-made ornaments and greeting cards.
In addition, the Pre-School students will be making festive placemats
for Meals on Wheels clients.
While Stuart's community outreach programs fill the entire calendar
year, the school participates in several initiatives during the moth of
December, benefiting local charitable organizations such as Martin
House and Loaves and Fishes.

Faelen Paladino, a third grade student from Skillman, hangs her
hand-made ornament on the Christmas tree at Stuart Country Day School.
Lower School students will be donating approximately 200 hand-made
ornaments to the Princeton Red Cross for distribution to its Meals on
Wheels clients.
