We live much more under secular supervision than of old; it is unavoidable if we want to do our work for children: all the more necessary then to strengthen ourselves in truth, in personal humility, in independence of the world, in the tendency to hiddenness which is characteristic of God's work in the universe.
At the Rosary in New Orleans, we celebrated
Mater's Feast with the traditional Mass and tableau of Mater. She is a
Senior chosen by her classmates as the girl who is most like Mater as we
know the tradition. The tableau consists of Mary dressed exactly as RSCJ
Pauline Perdreau's fresco depicted her, complete with lilies, the distaff
and spindle, a book lying open on top of a basket of wool to be spun.
During the tableau, the student body sings, "Thou Hast Many Portraits,
Mother. . .Mater Admirabilis." The youngest girls in their
white uniforms carry pink paper flowers they have made to the altar for
Mass. This annual re-enactment is one of the school's most
revered traditions. Happy Feast, indeed.
Would you like a word of wisdom from
Saint Madeleine Sophie for each day of the year? Lisa Buscher RSCJ and Kathleen Hughes RSCJ

Cash for Coteau
The Dean of Middle School, Betsy Briardy and
Dean of High School, Rebecca Wilson of Forest Ridge have worked along with students and
employees to support all at Grand Coteau, the staff, and students and their families after the hurricane. Their efforts have made
it fun for the entire community at Forest ridge in hopes it will help Grand Coteau. All at
Forest Ridge have been thinking and praying for Grand Coteau.
This was a concrete way we could express our concern and love.
