Thirteen Academy of the Sacred Heart
Grand Coteau High School students and two faculty members spent the Easter break
on a service trip to the Navajo Reservation in New Mexico. The students and
teachers cleared land for a community garden, prepared seeds for planting, and
helped restore a ceremonial sweat lodge. Students met with tribal elders to
learn more about the Navajo Culture. During the week, the group also visited
Canyon de Chelley, the Navajo National Monument, Monument Valley, Glen Canyon
Dam, Window Rock, and the north rim of the Grand Canyon.
