It was a day of giving at Stuart Country Day School of the Sacred Heart
as 27 students and staff donated their "ponytails" to the Locks of Love
organization in a mass hair cutting event May 8.
Stylists from the Metropolis Salon in Princeton donated their time and
skills to cut a total of 288 inches of hair. "Stuart stresses in its
mission that its students act when they see a social need," said
Shannon Rangecroft, a Stuart staff member who organized the event.
"Our students find that this is one of their favorite charitable
projects because it is an opportunity for children to directly help
other children." This is the fifth year the school has held an event to benefit the Locks of Love organization.
Locks of Love is a not-for-profit organization that provides hairpieces
to financially disadvantaged children 18 and younger with medical hair
loss.
Children comprise over 80 percent of the donors.

are in the third grade at Stuart. The triplets, who contributed a
combined total of 34 inches of hair, participated in a recent haircutting event at the
school in which 27 donors gave a total of 288 inches of hair to the
Florida-based charity.
