Sacred Heart Schools, Chicago, IL seek Technology Integration Specialist

Founded in Chicago in 1876, Sacred Heart Schools at Sheridan Road (Hardey Preparatory for Boys and Academy of the Sacred Heart for Girls) are independent, Catholic, single-sex elementary schools committed to academic excellence within the context of a Christian, faith-based community.  The educational mission is deeply rooted in the 200-year tradition of the Society of the Sacred Heart and shared with the Network of Sacred Heart Schools located in 32 countries, including 21 schools in the United States.  The essence of this tradition is the total development of each child: spiritual, intellectual, social, emotional and physical. Our girls and boys are taught in single-sex classrooms, but follow a similar curriculum and share in many activities. The instructor will work within the scope of the Goals and Criteria of Sacred Heart Education. With a total enrollment of approximately 646 students, the schools are organized into three academic divisions each led by a division head.

The technology integration specialist will provide K-8 leadership to assist teachers in integrating technology with the curriculum through a “hands on” approach.  Through co-planning and co-teaching with both the technology teacher(s) and classroom teachers in the primary, lower, and middle school, the technology integration specialist will impart knowledge of software and hardware applications for use within the classroom.  In addition, she/he will work along side the Technology Systems Administrator to provide knowledge and implementation of appropriate software to administrative staff and departments.  Based in this experience of leadership, the technology integration specialist will work with the Principal and other Administrators to build the annual technology budget. She/he will work with other members of the technology staff to purchase technology equipment.
