Regis School of the Sacred Heart Houston, TX seeks Director of Technology.
The Director of Technology is responsible for all aspects of network operations, including desktop, server, security, infrastructure (LAN/WAN) and telecommunications systems. Candidate will actively manage the information systems, provide support for technology curriculum, and provide technical assistance to members of the management team, faculty, staff and students. This position includes teaching responsibilities at the middle school level. This person will also be responsible for understanding and maintaining the department’s budget as well as ensuring that the budget adequately supports the school’s technology plan.
Information Systems
• Ensure the operation and security of network infrastructure, servers, desktops and laptops
• Oversee installation of hardware and software, maintenance and upgrades
• Manage printers, copiers, scanners, hubs, switches and user accounts
• Maintain daily backups of network resources
• Administer third party spam, filtering, firewalls and antivirus system
• Maintain accurate documentation of software licensing, hardware inventory, and department expenses
• Manage help desk functions
• Review and enhance existing technologies
• Research, evaluate and recommend new technologies
• Keep abreast in current and future trends in technology as they apply to the school
Technology Operations
• Maintain student laptop program
• Maintain and support the school’s website
• Assist in the maintenance and support of school grade books and administrative software
• Provide support for A/V equipment (televisions, projectors, VCR’s, DVD players, Interactive Promethean and SMART Boards)

Additional Duties and Preferred Qualifications
Working knowledge of Active Directory, Windows Server 2000 / 2003, Linux, Symantec Antivirus, Windows XP, MS Office 2003, Accelerated Reader/Math
Additional duties include knowledge in: Troubleshooting, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, NAT, SMTP, MX records, Wireless Connectivity, Apache, Disaster Recovery and Prevention, Virus Protection and Removal, Desktop Imaging, Group Policies, Port Forwarding, Remote Desktop, Content Filtering

• Support and implement the philosophy and mission of Catholic education and that of The Regis School of the Sacred Heart
• Serve as a positive Christian role model for students, parents, fellow staff members, and the larger school community
• Actively participate in nurturing the growth of Catholic faith within the community
Other related duties as assigned
Education / Training / Experience
Bachelor’s degree required
Prior experience preferred in network management, teaching and desktop support
Technical degree a plus
MCSA 2003 Certification and A+ Certification a plus
