Convent of the Sacred Heart, Greenwich, CT seeks Head of School. The Head of School is the Chief Executive Officer who in partnership with the Board of Trustees is responsible for accomplishing the school's mission and for achieving its goals. The Head of School is also responsible for ensuring policy implementation; development and direction of curriculum; hiring, supervising, professional development and evaluation of all staff; admission and evaluation of students; management of finances and facilities; promoting the school among its various constituencies and maintaining appropriate liaisons in the broader community.  Full position description available on line at either: www.cshgreenwich.org or www.carneysandoe.com.

• Further embrace the Goals and Criteria by continuing to foster good relationships across the international network of Sacred Heart schools; • Take a high functioning school that lives the mission to new levels of excellence; • Examine with the faculty and administration competing pressures on program and curriculum; • Assess the organization of the school for the most effective internal and external execution of mission; • Address the need for balance for adults and students facing the fast pace of change; • Fund and build upcoming physical and programmatic improvements, the endowment, and professional development;

• Partner with a committed Board of Trustees to assure best practices for governance; • Engage in dialogue on the topic of learning processes and pedagogies across the curriculum for all teachers and students; • Ensure intelligent use of technology while remaining technologically competitive.

• Take the Arts to a new level of prominence and accomplishment; • Assure appropriate time and attention to Admissions, Development, Marketing, and Communications; • Be knowledgeable, creative, and proactive in working with the Board with regard to the accessibility and affordability of a Sacred Heart education; • Provide effective business leadership stewarding a $26 million operating budget.

• Vision, strong personal mission, and commitment to take the school to its next level of excellence; • Live the Sacred Heart Charism and foundational principles; • Demonstrate always a commitment to and passion for education for girls and women in a single sex environment; • Possess significant experience in academic leadership; • Value, model, and demonstrate excellent communication skills in order to articulate the mission and story to a wide range of constituencies; • Minister to the community and build trust; • Address competing pressures with decisiveness and grace; • Be clearly knowledgeable about learning processes and commitment to learners of all ages, styles, and abilities; • Engage the community around issues of diversity and move the school forward meaningfully in this commitment; • Respect leadership throughout the school that is not only collaborative and shared, but also decisive and accountable; • Speak to issues of what is happening with children today developmentally and socially; • Attract and develop excellent faculty and staff; • Provide strong leadership in financial planning and resource allocation;

• Willingness to fund raise;

• Familiar with best practices in assessment.
