Thought for the Day

A common vision is being shaped which calls us to search out as never before the deepest meaning of the calls we hear worldwide, regardless of continent or culture or history, to attend to the growth of persons, and to take concrete steps to live the vision, even as it is in the process of being born.

PROJECT  HARVEST – POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y.    August 5th to August 10th
Girls: Grades 7th and 8th$360 plus cost of transportation

Project Harvest is a weeklong service program that gives teenage girls the opportunity to live together at Sprout Creek farm while working at an organic garden, a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture), and a soup kitchen. Through growing and harvesting, to feeding others and themselves, participants enjoy new experiences, meet new friends and gain broader perspectives.  Participants will also have the opportunity to do animal chores, swim in Sprout Creek and do farm related art projects. During this week ‘Harvesters’ will learn more about those in need, the world around them, and, in turn, themselves.
